Supporting the Whole Child

At Union Hill, we prioritize the holistic well-being of our students, recognizing that a healthy child is one who thrives academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally. Our approach encompasses a well-rounded commitment to health and wellness, starting with nutrition.

We provide nutritious meals to fuel young minds, ensuring they have the energy needed for optimal learning and growth. Before and after-school Enrichment activities encourage students to explore their interests beyond academics, fostering creativity and a love for learning. Our school nature trail offers an opportunity for students to connect with the natural world, promoting physical activity and an understanding of our rich environment

Additionally, Union Hill boasts a dedicated School Wellness Committee that supports staff health and wellness, recognizing the importance of educators' well-being as they guide our students on their educational journey. Together, we cultivate an environment where every aspect of a child's development is nurtured and cared for.

Immunizations for School

Some, but not all recommended childhood vaccines are required by California law and regulations in order to attend school. Under the California School Immunization Law (California Health and Safety Code, Sections 120325-120375), to protect the public’s health, children are required to receive certain immunizations in order to attend public and private elementary and secondary schools, child care centers, family day care homes, nursery schools, day nurseries, and developmental centers.

Not all recommended immunizations are required for school, but it is still important that children receive all of them. Talk to your doctor about other recommended vaccines, including flu vaccines every year.

Talk to your doctor about recommended vaccines for your child. View these CDC resources for additional information.

What if I can’t afford vaccines or my insurance doesn’t cover them?

Health Insurance

Health Insurance is required to participate in school sports. Insurance is available for a limited duration from Myer's - Stevens - Toohey or you may apply at Covered California for long-term coverage.
